Footnotes
REBEL'S ROMANCE (IRE) forwardly placed three wide and made a quick move while racing keenly around the first turn, settled in a stalking position in the two path, bid outside the leader at the five-sixteenths pole, took over a quarter mile out, spurted away in upper stretch, remained clear into the final sixteenth and was able to hold on over the late charge from the runner-up. ROUSHAM PARK (JPN) was off slow to begin, reserved in the two path, steadied off heels on the clubhouse turn, went three deep into the final bend, advanced while angling out, came five wide into the stretch, closed in fast from outside, reeled in the leader late but ran out of ground. SHAHRYAR (JPN) sat off the pace and moved inside, went between rivals on the backstretch, found traffic on the far turn, got bumped by inner rival entering the lane, angled out in upper stretch and finished willingly to gain third. GOLD PHOENIX (IRE) settled three deep on the first turn, moved into the two path, chased three deep on the backstretch, rounded the final turn three then four wide, brushed in upper stretch and churned on for a minor award. WINGSPAN (IRE) stalked in the two path, exited the final turn three wide, brushed in upper stretch, lacked a rally and got edged for a minor award. LUXEMBOURG (IRE) tracked from inside, fell out of range on the backstretch, tipped two wide leaving the last turn, found traffic in upper stretch and weakened. JAYAREBE (FR) was off slow to begin, coaxed along but had to pause when lacking room early, saved ground from off the pace, angled out and bumped into the stretch, could not rally, pulled up on the backstretch and was transported off the track via equine ambulance. EMILY UPJOHN (GB) came away slow, raced on the inside at the back, saved ground to the lane, lacked room from upper stretch to the sixteenth pole and was too late to rally once finding a clear path. FAR BRIDGE raced cleanly while close up early, found traffic late on the final bend, stayed on the inside and weakened. THERE GOES HARVARD tracked four then three wide early, stalked outside rivals to the far turn, roused three then two wide around the bend and also weakened. GRAND SONATA unhurried and moved to the two path, ran into mild traffic at the three-eighths pole, chased two wide into the lane and failed to menace. CABO SPIRIT stepped to the front and controlled the pace on the inside to the far turn, challenged at the five-sixteenths pole, relinquished the lead at the quarter pole and caved in the stretch run. EL ENCINAL (ARG) traveled two wide near the back, trailed around the final turn, cut the corner into the lane and could not make an impact.
