Footnotes
TRACK TIGER showed the way under pressure from inside, maintained a short lead through the turn, kicked clear in upper stretch and drew away under right-handed urging and strong handling. CACTUS CHARLIE broke out and bumped, raced up close outside the top pair, chased three wide on the turn, finished willingly to gain second but could not reach the winner. DIAGHILEV prompted to the pace from outside, kept the heat on the winner through the turn, could not kick on with that rival at the top of the lane, flattened in the late stages but managed to hold third. CHARLIE'S CURLIN settled out wide then moved into the three path for the turn, shifted to the two path then returned to the three path around the bend, angled widest in upper stretch and produced a mild rally. HOOSICK FALLS tracked two wide into the turn, moved to the rail then chased in the two path again approaching the stretch, angled out in the lane and lacked a rally. SANDS OF TIME took a bump from inside in the beginning, coaxed to a forward position while angling in, cut the corner into the lane and flattened out. CHAPTER ONE stalked four deep early, fell out of range four then three wide on the turn, shifted out in upper stretch and failed to rally. SAHARIAN came away to a slow beginning, trailed to the turn, saved ground around the bend, moved out in the lane and was never a factor.
