WILD RECRUIT dueled from inside, inched ahead early on the turn, cleared with a quarter mile remaining, opened up under strong handling at the top of the lane and widened under right handed urging and steady handling. IGNATOWSKI chased four wide into the turn, moved into the three path then tipped back out approaching the stretch and bested the rest. NAUKANAUKA veered in and bumped at the start, dropped back off the pace then chased off the rail under coaxing, took the turn three then tow wide and was along for the show honors. ROYAL CURLIN hustled from the gate and was coaxed along while dropping off the pace, tipped two wide a quarter mile out, moved back inside in the lane and improved position. HE'SQUITE MISCHIEF got pinballed leaving the gate, ridden along trailing the field up the backstretch, trailed two then three wide to the stretch and passed tired rivals. REMI OR NOT fought head to head with the winner up the backstretch, kept the pressure on from outside on the turn before losing touch with the leader at the quarter pole, chased three wide into the lane and faded in the drive. TORLEIF got bumped hard leaving the gate, chased under coaxing three wide into the turn, angled to the inside and asked along the rail around the bend but tired in the stretch. FOLLOWING AN INQUIRY, THE STEWARDS DISQUALFIED NAUKANAUKA FROM THIRD TO LAST FOR BREAKING IN SHARPLY AND CAUSING INTERFERENCE TO HE'SQUITE MISCHIEF AND TORLEIF AT THE START, COSTING BOTH RIVALS A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
