PATRON D'ORO stalked inside, tipped out a bit at the top of the stretch and found brief traffic behind the top pair, gained a clear path into the final furlong, split those rivals and surged clear. MY SUMMER DREAM settled along the inside, hugged the rail to the stretch, moved out in the furlong grounds and got up for second. GIVE ME THE LUTE pressed the pace between rivals to the turn, chased in the two path then three wide into the lane, launched a bid into the final furlong but could not summon the needed late kick. HOT BOX vied three deep up the backstretch, dueled outside a rival around the bend, led into the final furlong, lost command near the sixteenth pole and weakened late. CANE CREEK ROAD bumped outer rival leaving the gate, stalked outside a rival, took the turn two wide, moved out in the lane and could not produce a bid. DR. SOULFIRE broke a step slow on the outside, dropped back off the pace, traveled on the inside or two wide on the turn, offered a mild response in the drive and improved position. INSTINCT D' ORO vied inside a trio of rivals in the early going, dueled with HOT BOX around the turn, fought to midstretch and weakened. INCH got put in tight chasing between rivals early and had to steady, round the bend two then three wide, angled out in the drive and lacked a rally. EASTBOUND got bumped and lost a clear path leaving the gate, trailed on the inside to the stretch and could not make an impact. HELLADIC vied four deep to the turn, chased three then four wide on the turn and faded out of contention.
