Footnotes
SANDY BOTTOM sped clear from outside and steered across, showed the way along the inside through the turn, roused at the three-sixteenths pole when feeling some pressure from TAMARA, maintained a short lead into deep stretch and held gamely to the wire. TAMARA settled early on the inside then moved into range up the backstretch, shifted off the rail past the five-sixteenths pole, bid two wide entering the lane, drew on even terms past the sixteenth pole and got denied by the winner. ANYWHO hustled from the gate, stalked three deep into the turn, chased three to four wide into the lane, kept trying down the stretch but was no match for the top pair. YUKI (CHI) was closest in pursuit of the pacesetter from off the rail in the early going, chased two to three wide around the bend and weakened in the drive. VITALERA (CHI) chased off the rail, went two wide into the turn, dropped back while angling to the rail around the bend and could not threaten after. CLIQUISH unhurried in the beginning, trailed three wide into the turn, passed a rival at the five-sixteenths pole, stayed off the rail to the stretch and failed to menace.
