WHISKEYINATEACUP broke out then showed early speed outside rivals, stalked three deep leaving the backstretch, bid outside the leader at the three-eighths pole, took over at the five-sixteenths marker, led four wide into the lane, put away inner rival in upper stretch, fought with VALENTINES CANDY in furlong grounds and held gamely. VALENTINES CANDY raced between rivals off the pace, went three wide into the turn, angled to the two path briefly, chased three deep at the five-sixteenths pole, came four wide into the lane, drew alongside the leader midstretch and could not get by. PAX A PUNCH broke a step slow on the outside, chased outside rivals towards the back, raced four deep at the five-sixteenths pole, remained wide to the stretch and kept on to gain the show honors. CITIZEN BARRETT broke out and bumped rival, raced in range off the rail, traveled three wide then angled out to the five path around the bend and flattened in the late stages. EMPIRE WARRIOR drifted out briefly early while challenging for command, cleared past the half-mile pole, challenged by a rival at the three-eighths pole, raced greenly while trying to get on on the turn, lost command at the five-sixteenths pole, fought three wide into the lane, yielded in upper stretch and weakened late. P TOWN PRANCER bobbled leaving the gate, steadied off heels early, bid inside at the five-sixteenths pole, fought to the top of the lane and faded. MASTER JACQUES broke slow and outward, raced greenly while trailing early, traveled six wide into the lane and was never a factor. FARENHEIT O C drifted leaving the gate, pressed the pace briefly then stalked up the backstretch, dropped back around the turn and came up empty in the drive. PETRIFIED brushed the gate and got bumped from inside, was hard to ride up the backstretch, angled in and saved ground to the stretch but failed to get involved.
