Footnotes
MAD ABOUT MARIE tracked two to three wide into the backstretch, ranged up menacingly to issue a bold three deep challenge at the three furlong pole, assumed command and drew clear while well in hand nearing the quarter pole, came under hand urging at the furlong grounds and was brought back in hand with the deal sealed in the final sixteenth. HEARTS UNITED broke a step slow, settled well off of the pace in the three path, crept closer in the four path around the far turn and sustained progress to edge place in the final furlong. CATCHING HEAT pressed two wide, bid along with an outer rival at the three furlong pole, but proved no match for that one turning for home, resisted an outer challenge for place at the furlong grounds but got bested. ONMYWAYTOSAVTHDAY tracked along the inside, faded around the far turn, yet regained stride while swinging to the five path and between horses entering the lane, then ran on mildly among foes. STARLIT SOFI stumbled severely and almost dislodged his rider at the start, lagged behind into the backstretch, closed the gap on the rest in the three to four path around the far turn before fanning to the six path into the lane, but lacked a rally. AMADORA'S EMPIRE broke a bit awkwardly, pursued from midpack along the inside, then two wide and between horses around the far turn and failed to menace. PAT'SCHROMECOMPASS showed the way along the inside, but was overhauled by a pair of outer bidders passing the three furlong pole and stopped.
