SHAPE NOTE vied two wide, led narrowly around the turn, then between horses as a pair of outer rivals offered challenges at the five sixteenths pole, yet drew off once let out entering the lane and widened under mild urging. AMERICAN XPERIMENT chased from midpack in the three path, shifted out to the five to six path into the lane and ran on to gain place in the final sixteenth. DAZZLEMESILVER was off a bit awkwardly, raced at the rear along the inside, moved out around the turn before swinging to the six to seven path into the lane, then rallied outside of foes to reach show at the wire. TOP GUN TOMMY vied for the lead inside of the eventual winner into the turn, then inside of a trio of foes while headed turning for home, proved no match for his most immediate counterpart entering the lane, clung to place into the final furlong, but yielded that position late and got nailed for show. FIELD DAY stalked two wide, got floated four wide around the bend before bidding four deep passing the five sixteenths pole, prompted turning for home but proved no match for the leader entering the lane, then gave way between horses in the final furlong. LIGHTNING STRUCK was briefly antsy in the starting gate, stuttered a step at the start and broke slow, raced at the rear in the three to four path, fanned out to the six path nearing the lane and failed to factor. NABOKOV raced off of the pace along the inside and made little impact. METALLIC MAN stalked along the inside early on, shifted out to the two to three path into the turn before bidding three deep and between foes at the five sixteenths pole, but weakened in upper stretch.
