Footnotes
ARMY OFFICER was eased back from between horses early on, rated off of the pace along the inside, tracked while inching closer in hand in the two path turning for home, shifted out and offered a bold four wide challenge entering the lane, forged an advantage in midstretch and edged ahead under mild flagging encouragement. QUATROCENTO laid close up two wide and between horses, got rank while being wrangled back passing the five furlong pole, tracked three deep around teh far turn, ranged up to bid at the quarter pole, vied as an outer rival offered a menacing challenge entering the lane, got headed by that one at the furlong grounds yet fought on gamely to pull away from the rest. CAMARO Z brushed with an inner foe at the start, stalked along the inside, awaited racing room turning for home, remained committed to a rail charge and slipped through tight quarters in upper stretch, ran on to edge show at the sixteenth pole and held that position, then was transported off of the track in an equine ambulance. QUADRA ISLAND brushed with an outer rival leaving the gate, lacked speed two wide, shifted to the four path into upper stretch and ran on willingly to miss show. NOT FALLING BACK prompted three to two wide, vied around the far turn, then between horses turning for home, brushed with his inner counterpart entering the lane and weakened. LAMPLIGHTER JACK set the pace along the inside, clung to an advantage from a pair of outer bidders turning of home, brushed with a foe entering the lane, got headed inside of trio in upper stretch and faded. STRETCH RIDE tracked from midpack two wide and faded around the far turn. ARCHIE THE GIZA was fidgeting as the gates sprung and broke a step slow, trailed near the inside and failed to factor. TOWERING STORM saved ground off of the pace and tired.
