CROSS HASTE was quick to the lead and clear, set the pace inside but off the fence, began lugging out near the furlong marker under left-handed urging and continued to do so till late stretch, straightened out and dug in and just held. MAYHEMINTHEPALACE settled in behind tracking inside, saved ground on the turn, angled five wide at the top of the stretch, attempted to split rivals, was put in tight quarters by the drifting leader, altered course inside that one past the furlong marker, continued to fight on but missed. SOLOMONS GOLD broke just a step slowly, moved up outside heading to the turn racing about five to six deep, advanced leaving that bend and in upper stretch, was forced out a bit near the sixteenth pole, kept on but needed more. GOLDEN SKULL switched out early, was kept wide while trailing, was five to six wide coming to the quarter pole, floated wider still to be nine deep in upper stretch, finished well but too late. MADNESS pressed the winner from outside two to three wide, weakened in the stretch. AMOR LEJANO (ARG) raced off the pace removed from the rail, came out eight to nine deep in the stretch, made no impact. ROLLING ON chased the leading pair, was under strong urging passing the three-eighths racing four to five wide and within range coming to the top of the stretch, faltered and faded. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY AS WELL AS AN OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF MAYHEMINTHEPALACE AGAINST CROSS HASTE ALLEGING INTERFERENCE, THE LATTER WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM FIRST AND PLACED SECOND BEHIND THE FORMER.
