GOES THE CLOWN well placed in the early stages, tracked the decent pace while saving ground into the backstretch, tipped out at the quarter marker and bid two wide into upper stretch, took command at the furlong pole then held off the runner-up in deep stretch. DISATTACHED allowed to settle while never far back, got caught a bit in tight into the first turn then recovered and tracked the pace two to three wide up the backstretch, chased to the quarter marker then rallied three wide for the stretch drive, was gaining in the late stages but could not reel in the winner late and was a clear second. SARATOGA CRUISER unhurried in the early stages, was roused four wide into upper stretch, could not impact the leading pair late but was able to close the gap in the final sixteenth and was clear in the end for third. DIME PAPI a step slow leaving the start, settled into the first turn, made a three to four wide middle move to vie for the lead at the half-mile pole, dueled ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT into the second turn, shook free of that rival in upper stretch then was overtaken at the furlong grounds, gave way in the late stages and was outfinished for the show honors. DREAM SCHEME sent to assume early command, set a decent pace while prompted along the backstretch, was overtaken at the half-mile marker, could not keep pace to the second turn and faded. ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT attended to the decent pace into the backstretch, vied for the lead at the half-mile marker then dueled DIME PAPI into the far turn, could not keep up into the stretch and faltered in the final furlong.
