Footnotes
AZAM prominent early, pressed the pace between rivals heading to the turn, took command two wide nearing the quarter marker then drifted to the three path into upper stretch, kept to task to the furlong marker, met the bid of KHON HAN into the final sixteenth, drifted in while battling the runner-up in deep stretch and lasted for the win. KHON HAN settled while saving ground into the turn, maintained a rail path to upper stretch and loomed nearing the furlong marker, surged to vie for the lead into the final sixteenth, was crowded by AZAM in deep stretch then just missed for the win, while just holding for the place in a game effort. INORDINARY tracked the pace four wide into the turn, chased into upper stretch then responded into the final furlong, closed willingly in deep stretch and just missed for the win and place, while well clear of the rest for the show. MALBEC broke alertly, showed good early speed and set a pressured pace to the turn, lost the lead nearing the quarter pole then gave chase into the stretch, could not muster a final response and yielded. SMOLS lacked early speed, ran in pursuit three to four wide into upper stretch, could not find the needed response and passed tiring rivals late. RAMMAAS settled outside of runners in the early going, chased two wide into the turn, lacked a response in the stretch drive and did not threaten late. SIM SALA BIM stalked the early pace three deep, lost position nearing the quarter marker then tired in the stretch drive. JUANSINMIEDO broke slowly and trailed throughout. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING IN DEEP STRETCH. THE STEWARDS DETERMINED AZAM CROWDED KHON HAN IN DEEP STRETCH AND COST THAT RIVAL THE OPPORTUNITY OF A BETTER PLACING. AZAM WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM FIRST AND PLACED SECOND.
