SCARLET SANDS rated off of the early pace and saved ground into the first turn, saved all of the ground to the second turn then tipped two wide at the quarter marker, confronted CLAIMED into upper stretch then battled that foe past the furlong marker, shook free into the final sixteenth and kept to task in deep stretch. CLAIMED vied for the early lead then assumed command into the first turn, carved out decent fractions while controlling the pace nearing the half-mile pole, held a clear lead into the far turn then came under pressure into upper stretch, met the bid of SCARLET SANDS and battled that foe to the final sixteenth, grudgingly gave way in deep stretch and held late for second. LA GIOCONDA ceded the early lead to CLAIMED then tracked that rival through decent fractions nearing the half-mile pole, chased two wide and between runners into the second turn, ran in pursuit three wide into the stretch, made a mild late rally but could not reel in the top pair late and held safely for third. SPECIAL AVIATOR was squeezed at the start and off a bit slowly, allowed to settle in the early stages, advanced along the rail into the second turn then was caught in traffic into upper stretch, chased along the rail into the final sixteenth and lacked a late rally. LE TOUCHE settled off of the early pace while never far back, tracked the decent pace two to three wide up the backstretch, was caught a bit in tight and steadied nearing the quarter marker, chased three wide into the stretch then could not muster a final response. BECKETT'S MAP allowed to settle, raced two wide to the far turn, trailed into upper stretch then did not factor in the late stages. THE JOCKEY OF LE TOUCHE LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE RIDER OF LA GIOCONDA, CLAIMING INTERFERENCE ON THE SECOND TURN. THE STEWARDS DISALLOWED THAT OBJECTION AND RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
