Footnotes
BATTLE OF DOVER broke alertly and assumed early command, controlled the pace to far turn, dug in when challenged to upper stretch, was unyielding to the final sixteenth and gamely held for the win. LAS OLAS allowed to settle while saving ground, was caught in tight and steadied entering the far turn, angled five wide to upper stretch, surged late and just missed for the win, while getting up in time for the place. BOLD N BREEZY tracked the pace to far turn, vied upper stretch, turned away late, lost second and just held third. UNO TIGER settled inside, angled three wide to upper stretch, shifted out and rallied widest into the final sixteenth, finished well and just missed for third. SPEIGHT'SPERCOMETE settled mid-pack, advanced two wide far turn, was gaining late but was outfinished in deep stretch. DIXIE PREACH settled, gain three wide to far turn, chased late, no final kick. DREAMS OF MYFATHER tracked to second turn, chased inside to stretch, tired. T B TWELVE ALWAYS in tight to first turn, hit the inner rail then had the jockey lose his irons, could not recover and trailed the rest of the way.
