FREGON tracked three wide to far turn, bid to upper stretch then drifted out at the furlong grounds, battled to the final sixteenth and determinedly prevailed in a blanket finish. LOOKIN FOR ROSES settled early, bid three wide to upper stretch, angled in into the final furlong, closed well in deep stretch and just missed for the win, while earning the place honors. WILLINGNESS sent, set pace to quarter marker, met the bid of FREGON to upper stretch, drifted out a path while battling nearing the sixteenth-pole, dug in late and was gamely bested for the win and place, while just holding for the show. PET MAT settled early, swung four wide to upper stretch, in tight then altered course inside of the furlong marker, surged late and just missed. CRYPTO MAN stalked two wide to second turn, gave way stretch. TITAN tracked inside, well placed to second turn, weakened stretch. DOWNING STREET unhurried to backstretch, trailed to far turn, no late response. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN. IN ADDITION, THE RIDER OF PET MAT LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE RIDER OF FREGON, CLAIMING INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH DRIVE. THE STEWARDS RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
