LONGBRANCH LOU reserved early, roused six wide to upper stretch, full of run late, took command in deep stretch and held driving. GIFTEDBYDESIGN settled mid-pack, bid two wide to stretch, vied between foes into the final sixteenth, was in tight late and was outkicked by the winner, while holding safely for second. VICTORY DASH sent to be prominent early, took command along the backstretch, showed the way to the quarter marker then kicked clear to mid-stretch, came under pressure into the final sixteenth, drifted in late and yielded to the top pair, while clear of the rest for third. CONQUERING KING well placed, tracked three to four wide to far turn, no late kick. JACK KEROUAC settled inside, gained at the quarter marker then was shut off and checked nearing upper stretch, angled widest for the drive and offered a mild late bid. DIME PAPI rated off pace, tracked three wide to the far turn then was caught in traffic nearing the quarter pole, could not find more into the stretch and flattened out. CARENTAN hustled at the start, stalked inside to two wide to far turn, faded stretch. SUGAR BUZZ settled, saved ground to stretch, no factor. J SQUARED set early pace, ceded to VICTORY DASH and stalked the pace to far turn, lacked the needed response to upper stretch and faded. MAKTUB off bit slow, unhurried to backstretch, trailed to far turn. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING IN DEEP STRETCH. IN ADDITION, THE JOCKEY OF VICTORY DASH LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE RIDER OF LONGBRANCH LOU, CLAIMING INTERFERENCE IN THE FINAL SIXTEENTH. THE STEWARDS DETERMINED VICTORY DASH DRIFTED OUT IN DEEP STRETCH AND RULED NO CHANGE WOULD BE MADE.
