BERT'S KNOTY GIRL was prominent in the early going, stalked the modest pace up the backstretch then vied for the lead into the far turn, dueled on even terms with TIADORO into the stretch, took command into the final furlong and dug in when confronted by SPICY PRINCESS, determinedly held the runner-up at bay into the final sixteenth and lasted for the win. SPICY PRINCESS well placed in the early stages, tracked the pace from the inside up the backstretch, saved ground to the far turn then tipped three wide for the stretch drive, rallied into the final furlong, could not get by the determined winner in deep stretch and was well clear of the rest for second. BIRCH RUN off a bit slowly leaving the start, settled three wide into the first turn, raced widest up the backstretch then mounted a three wide bid into the far turn, chased the leaders to the furlong grounds, was outkicked in the final sixteenth but stayed on well in deep stretch and got up in time for third. TIADORO broke alertly and assumed early command, set a modest pace to the backstretch, met the bid of BERT'S KNOTY GIRL at the quarter marker, battled to mid-stretch then weakened in the late stages and just missed for third. AFFIRMING lost her path at the start and was off a step slowly, settled off of the early pace, asked for run three wide nearing the quarter marker, angled out into upper stretch, made a mild rally to the final sixteenth but needed more late. IMPERIA BLUE settled off of the early pace, saved ground to the second turn then waited for racing room nearing the quarter marker, angled out for the stretch drive and offered a mild late rally. MISCHIEVOUS SCOUT raced on a snug early hold while forwardly placed into the first turn, tracked the modest pace three wide to the half-mile marker, chased between rivals into the far turn, could not keep pace to mid-stretch then gave way in the final stages. WELCOME SURPRISE settled in the second flight leaving the start, was floated out along the first turn then tucked in between rivals into the backstretch, chased from the two path then from the rail nearing the quarter pole, ran evenly to the furlong marker and did not offer a late response. IVEY MY LOVE in tight while keen into the first turn, checked into that bend then lost position into the backstretch, trailed to the half-mile marker then did not factor in the late stages.
