G SPEEDY showed good speed away from the start, set a contested pace from the two path along the turn, led to mid-stretch, repelled ADIOS MATE approaching the final sixteenth and held sway in the late stages. ADIOS MATE pressed the early pace from inside of G SPEEDY, battled inside of that foe into the stretch, was repelled into the final sixteenth and was a clear second best. AMAURY M. V. P. forwardly placed in the early going, tracked the pace two wide and between rivals into the turn, chased three wide to upper stretch, was outkicked into the final furlong and held safely in the end for third. LIL BIT SIDEWAYS allowed to settle early, saved ground to the quarter marker, maintained an inside path to the stretch, could not sustain his run to the final sixteenth and flattened out late. SAN QUINTIN settled in the early stages while never far back, saved ground into the turn then angled out for the stretch drive, chased to mid-stretch and could not muster a final response. GOURMET DINNER tracked the early pace from outside of rivals, chased three then four wide nearing the top of the lane, spun five wide for the stretch drive, could not keep pace heading to the furlong grounds and gave way. HOORAY FOR ME rated off of the early pace, swung six wide for the stretch drive and did not threaten in the late stages. THE GREAT EMPIRE broke awkwardly and was off slowly, lacked early speed and trailed throughout.
