GIRL IN BLUE showed good speed away from the start, assumed early command and set a decent pace to the quarter marker, held sway to mid-stretch then pulled away late under steady urging. TOP POCKET PICK tracked the early pace, chased two wide and between runners nearing the quarter pole, ran in pursuit of GIRL IN BLUE to mid-stretch, could not match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth and was second best. DERBY HANGOVER settled off of the early pace, chased from the two path into upper stretch, could not impact the top pair late and ran on to earn the show honors. MARANTA settled off of the early pace, asked for run four wide nearing the quarter marker, spun five wide for the stretch drive, could not sustain his run to the final sixteenth and flattened out late. MONEY BATTLE rated off of the early pace, got to the rail and tracked the pace into the turn, was well placed to the quarter marker, ran in pursuit to mid-stretch, could not find a late response and weakened in the final sixteenth. STARSHIP MAXIMUS hustled to be forwardly placed early on, chased the pace two then three wide nearing the quarter marker, was outkicked to mid-stretch then tired in the late stages. TIZ FOR MATT lacked early speed, trailed into the turn and did not mount a late rally.
