Footnotes
JUST A PHILLY showed good speed away from the start, disputed the early pace three deep along the backstretch, ceded the lead to PARTY SHAKER and stalked that rival into the turn, re-bid at the quarter marker then battled PARTY SHAKER into the lane, took command and shook free past mid-stretch, drew clear into the final sixteenth and pulled away late under moderate urging. ST. OLAF ROSE settled just off of the early pace, tracked three wide to the turn, chased two wide to the quarter marker then ran in pursuit into the stretch, could not match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth but stayed on late to earn the place honors. PARTY SHAKER was hustled away from the gate, vied for the early lead then assumed command along the backstretch, set a solid pace into the turn, met the bid of JUST A PHILLY to upper stretch, yielded to the winner into the final sixteenth, was caught late for the place honors and was clear of the rest for the show. BOTH SIDES rated just off of the early pace, tracked from the inside along the backstretch and was well placed to the turn, ran in pursuit from the rail nearing the quarter marker, chased to mid-stretch and lacked a late response. TIMELY REWARD broke alertly and vied for the early lead, chased the pace three to four wide into the turn, ran in pursuit to mid-stretch, could not find more into the final furlong and weakened late. CAP FERRAT settled off of the early pace while not far back, tracked five wide into the turn, maintained a wide trip to upper stretch and did not rally in the final furlong. STRAND OF GOLD lacked early speed, trailed to the turn and was never involved. CARROLL'S HONOR chased the early pace from between rivals, lost position into the turn, dropped back nearing the quarter marker, was eased through the lane and walked off.
