Footnotes
OSCARS ANGEL settled mid-pack in the early going, was well placed along the backstretch, coaxed two wide to the far turn then waited for racing room at the quarter pole, responded between rivals into the lane, rallied and split foes into deep stretch and determinedly got up for the win in the final strides. THREE CHEERS settled off of the early pace while never far back, advanced along the rail to the second turn, tipped out three wide for the stretch drive, rallied to the furlong marker then vied for the lead to the final sixteenth, was tagged for the win in the final strides and just held for second at the wire. JUSTIN SMILES allowed to settle, was unhurried along the backstretch, navigated traffic into the far turn then mounted an inside bid to upper stretch, rallied along the rail to mid-stretch, sustained that bid to deep stretch and just missed for the win and place, while getting up in time for the show. DAVID PEPPERMAN up close in the early going, stalked the decent pace three deep into the backstretch, bid to the far turn and vied for the lead nearing the quarter marker, battled INHONOROFSONNY to mid-stretch, led into the final furlong then was outfinished in deep stretch. INHONOROFSONNY was prominent away from the start, attended to the decent pace into the backstretch, dueled inside of DAVID PEPPERMAN into the far turn, vied to upper stretch then battled to the furlong marker, could not keep pace to deep stretch and weakened late. HAMDOUN allowed to settle while never far back, saved ground along the backstretch, angled three wide to the quarter marker, swung four to five wide to upper stretch and lacked the needed late response. STAR PRINCE took early command and set the pace to the first turn, showed the way into the backstretch then was overtaken nearing the half-mile marker, chased to the quarter pole, could not find more into the stretch drive and tired late. JOSH READY was off a step slowly, caught four to five wide into the first turn, advanced while widest along the backstretch, chased four to five wide to the quarter marker, ran in pursuit to upper stretch then gave way in the late stages. LAW OF ONE allowed to settle into the first turn, trailed to the half-mile marker, lacked a response into the far turn and did not threaten in the stretch drive.
