SUNSET HARBOUR was sent to contest the early pace, took a narrow lead along the backstretch then shook free approaching the turn, carved out a decent pace to the quarter marker then kept to task to mid-stretch, dug in when challenged by VIOLENCE AND PEACE into the final furlong and held off the runner-up in deep stretch to prevail. VIOLENCE AND PEACE vied for the early lead, pressed SUNSET HARBOUR along the backstretch then chased that rival into the turn, re-rallied into the stretch, confronted SUNSET HARBOUR inside of the furlong marker and battled into the final sixteenth, was held at bay in deep stretch and was well clear of the rest for second. CALLING THE SHOTS was bothered at the start and almost unseated the rider leaving the break, allowed to settle in the early stages, coaxed two wide then from the rail into the turn, could not impact the top pair into the stretch but ran on late and got up in time for third. BEE A QUEEN rated off of the early pace, tracked from the second flight heading to the turn, ran in pursuit two then three wide nearing the top of the stretch, weakened in the final furlong and was outfinished late for the show honors. MAGNETIC BEACH settled off of the contested early pace, coaxed two wide to the quarter marker, passed tiring rivals in the stretch drive. FLATTER FANATIC settled in the second flight, was well placed while saving ground approaching the turn, chased from the inside into upper stretch, could not find a response at the furlong grounds and weakened in the lane. GEAUX AMY settled off of the early pace, was coaxed three wide to upper stretch and did not rally late. ANNA JEAN lacked early speed, saved ground into the turn and did not threaten in the stretch drive. BOOMBOX BETTY stumbled sharply at the start then bothered an inner rival, was unhurried in the early going, coaxed two to three wide to upper stretch and did not factor late.
