BIG BOB allowed to settle in the early going, was roused three then four wide approaching the far turn, loomed at the quarter marker and vied for the lead to upper stretch, battled EXCUSES to the furlong grounds, repelled that foe into the final sixteenth then drew clear in deep stretch. SEAWISE was prominent away from the start, ceded the early lead and stalked from the inside into the first turn, was well placed while saving ground to the half-mile pole, chased from the rail nearing the quarter marker, angled three then four wide for the stretch drive, closed into the final sixteenth and got up in time for the place honors. FLAG OFFICER settled in mid-pack and three wide early on, advanced between rivals into the second turn, rallied three wide to upper stretch then dove to the rail into the final sixteenth, was gaining late and just missed for second on the wire. EXCUSES was forwardly placed to the first turn, stalked the decent pace along the backstretch, vied for the lead two wide and between rivals nearing the quarter pole, battled into the stretch, was turned away by BIG BOB into the final sixteenth, yielded late and was outfinished for the minor awards. SKI BUM settled off of the early pace while never far back, was coaxed two then three wide into the far turn, swung four wide to upper stretch and was put in tight at the three-sixteenths marker, recovered into the final furlong, made a mild rally to deep stretch but needed more late. GREAT HUNT was well placed while two to three wide into the first turn, tracked the moderate pace three to four wide nearing the half-mile marker, gave chase into the second turn, spun five wide for the stretch drive, ran in pursuit while on the left lead into the final sixteenth and lacked the needed late response. ANIMATED was unhurried in the early going, asked for run three wide into the far turn, chased four to five wide to upper stretch, stumbled and crowded SKI BUM at the three-sixteenths pole, ran in pursuit into the final furlong and could not muster a late response. SWEET LAZARUS hustled away from the start, assumed early command and showed the way into the first turn, carved out a moderate pace nearing the half-mile marker, led to the second turn then came under pressure nearing the top of the lane, was overtaken into upper stretch and faded in the final furlong. SPEAKER'S LOBBY settled off of the early pace while never far back, saved ground to the second turn, waited for racing room at the quarter marker then found a seam to upper stretch, advanced at the furlong marker then flattened out in the late stages. SECRET POWER was keen while in a bit tight into the first turn, angled off of the rail then tracked the pace three deep nearing the half-mile pole, shifted back to the inside into the far turn and chased to the quarter marker, could not find a response to upper stretch and weakened in the drive. MILAZZO settled away from the start then checked while in tight soon after the break, lacked early speed, trailed to the half-mile marker, saved ground to the quarter pole and did not factor in the stretch drive.
