LIGHT FURY sent for the early lead, made his own pace while well handled along the backstretch, led to the quarter marker then drifted out a bit while leading to upper stretch, set down into the final furlong, dug in into the final sixteenth and held late for a determined win. BATTLE OF DOVER ceded the early lead to LIGHT FURY, tracked the pace from the inside into the first turn, was well placed along the backstretch run, saved all of the ground to the second turn, advanced along the rail into the stretch, fought gamely to the final sixteenth, could not get by the determined winner late and held for second at the wire. SELECTO was forwardly placed in the early running, tracked the moderate pace two to three wide along the backstretch, asked for run into the far turn, gave chase three wide into the stretch, closed willingly into the final sixteenth, could not reel in the winner late and just missed for second, while clear of the rest for third. GUILDENSTERN (IRE) settled in the second flight and outside of rivals in the early going, advanced three wide nearing the quarter marker, chased into the stretch, was gaining late but could not reel in the leaders in deep stretch. VLADISLAV was forwardly placed into the first turn, tracked the decent pace three to four deep along the backstretch run, ran in pursuit into the far turn, swung four to five wide for the stretch drive then was outkicked in the late stages. DIXIE PREACH unhurried in the early stages, advanced outside of rivals entering the far turn, swung five wide for the stretch drive, needed more in the late stages and made a mild rally in deep stretch. SALVATTORE PRINCE took back in the early going, was unhurried up the backstretch, got caught a bit in tight between rivals entering the far turn, swung three then four wide for the stretch drive, angled widest at the furlong grounds and offered a mild late bid. CLEAR DESTINATION settled mid-pack and between rivals, chased two then three wide into the far turn, was one paced into the stretch and lacked the needed late response. SPEED CONTROL settled while saving ground in the early stages, saved all of the ground to the far turn, advanced to mid-stretch then could not find more into the final sixteenth and finished evenly. SUNSHINE FROLIC rated off of the early pace, saved ground into the first turn then was well placed to the backstretch, chased from the rail into the far turn, could not muster the needed response into the drive and weakened in the final furlong.
