Footnotes
MAKEIT TO CHEYENNE rated nicely off of the quick early pace, tracked from the inside into the turn, saved ground to the stretch then was set down for the drive, tipped to the two path nearing mid-stretch, made a sustained rally to the final sixteenth, vied for the lead three wide into deep stretch and determinedly won the nod on the wire. XY SPEED settled off of the fast early pace, saved ground into the turn, mounted a rail bid to upper stretch, angled out into the final sixteenth, vied between rivals in deep stretch, fought gamely to the wire and just missed for the win, while holding for second. OKIRO was crowded at the start and a step slow to begin, settled in the early going, advanced outside of rivals along the turn then swung five wide for the stretch drive, responded in the lane, was gaining late and got up in time for third. ESPERON broke sharply and sped to the early lead, made his own pace while carving out quick fractions to the quarter marker, held a clear lead to mid-stretch, was caught in deep stretch and just missed for third. CRUZIN MAN raced close up to the early pace, took back and tracked the loose leader into the turn, chased three wide into the stretch, could not muster the needed late response and was outkicked in deep stretch. EL APAGON (CHI) tracked the quick early pace two then three wide, chased from the four path to upper stretch, ran in pursuit to mid-stretch then could not muster the needed final response. LORD BERRIER crowded at the start and a step slow to begin, lacked early speed, trailed to the quarter marker and did not factor in the stretch drive.
