ONE OF ONE sent to contest the early lead, engaged with LOVE MAMI LOVE into the first turn and disputed the pace with that rival into the backstretch, dueled through decent fractions into the far turn, was set down to upper stretch and took a narrow lead to the furlong pole, held LOVE MAMI LOVE at bay into the final sixteenth and drew clear in deep stretch. LOVE MAMI LOVE was hustled away from the start and vied for the early lead into the first turn, engaged with ONE OF ONE and disputed the decent pace outside of that rival into the backstretch, dueled into the far turn then battled to upper stretch, was repelled nearing mid-stretch, fought on while chasing ONE OF ONE into the final sixteenth, could not make headway on the winner in deep stretch and was second best. COMPASS RISES unhurried in the early stages, saved all of the ground to the far turn, angled three wide to upper stretch then closed well into the final sixteenth, could not reel in the top pair late and was clear for third. SUNROOF settled three wide into the first turn, was unhurried while widest up the backstretch, gave chase into the second turn, swung three then four wide for the stretch drive, made a mild late rally but could not reel in the leaders in deep stretch. STRAND OF GOLD was forwardly placed in the early going, tracked the contested pace two to three wide into the backstretch, chased two wide into the far turn, lacked the needed response into upper stretch and gave way in the final furlong. PLAY FREE BIRD showed speed away from the start then took back into the first turn, tracked the contested pace from the inside into the backstretch, was well placed to the half-mile pole and ran in pursuit from the rail into the far turn, could not muster a rally into the stretch and weakened late. CURRENT SITUATION hopped at the start and was off slowly, recovered and settled while not far back in the early stages, unhurried up the backstretch, chased two wide and between foes into the far turn, could not keep pace to the quarter pole, was eased through the stretch drive and walked off.
