GOODBETTERBEST broke alertly and assumed early command, set a decent pace while prompted into the backstretch, showed the way while under pressure into the far turn, shook free into upper stretch then kicked clear at the furlong grounds, was kept to task under firm late urging and held sway to the wire. STARSHIP MELODY was away in good order then took back off of the early lead, was well placed while saving ground into the first turn, tracked the decent pace along the backstretch and saved all of the ground to the far turn, tipped out two to three wide for the stretch drive then closed into the final sixteenth, could not impact the winner in deep stretch and held well late for second. LADY CHA CHA allowed to settle early on, advanced outside of rivals into the far turn, mounted a three then four wide rally into the stretch, closed well into the final sixteenth and just missed for second, while holding safely in the end for third. TURINO broke a step slowly then was keen on the run to the first turn, settled and tracked the pace two wide into the backstretch, well placed to the half-mile marker, mounted a three wide bid into the far turn and vied for the lead to upper stretch, was repelled into the final furlong and outkicked late for the minor awards. DEFLECTION was sent to be prominent early on, ceded the lead to GOODBETTERBEST into the first turn and prompted the pacesetter through decent fractions along the backstretch, lost position between rivals into the far turn, gave chase into the stretch, could not muster a final response and yielded late. OXAR settled off of the early pace while never far back, saved ground along the backstretch run, advanced along the rail into the far turn, could not sustain her run into the final furlong and flattened out. ANNIE GOODBODY off a step slow to begin, settled off of the early pace and was unhurried to the backstretch, trailed to the quarter marker and lacked a final response.
