Footnotes
BATTLE OF DOVER was away in good order and set a pressured pace on the inside while being well rated, continued on the inside while being well handled and came under coaxing nearing the quarter pole, came off the bend and dug in gamely and held on well to prove best under a drive. BOLD ADVANCE pressed the early pace three to two wide, came under a ride leaving the quarter pole and came three wide off the bend and loomed boldly by the furlong marker but could not get by the winner and had to settle for being second best. DIXIE PREACH was allowed to settle early two to three wide, then was four wide entering the far turn and moved out to make a five wide move leaving the five sixteenths and came seven wide into the lane and had a good late kick to gain the show award but needed more late. DOWNING STREET was reserved early towards the inside, eased out on the far turn and swung out seven wide leaving the turn, came in a tad by the three sixteenths and then was corrected and offered a belated rally on the outside. SELECTO stalked the pace three wide and came under a ride leaving the five sixteenths and came four wide into the lane but had no late kick. ROCK THE STARS tracked the pace from the inside and came under a ride by the five sixteenths and weakened. GUILDENSTERN (IRE) was rated along between rivals on the first turn, two wide on the far turn and faded. CITIZEN K was four wide into the first turn and chased the pace on the outside, four wide on the far turn and came under crop urging nearing the quarter pole but came up empty.
