BAREFOOT SAMURAI unhurried in the early going, was content to trail to the half-mile pole, made a sweeping four to five wide rally nearing the quarter marker, drifted in into upper stretch then vied for the lead approaching the furlong grounds, took command and drew away under mild hand urging in the late stages. OPTIMAL TRIP settled inside, saved ground to the second turn, got caught in traffic nearing the quarter marker, shifted out into upper stretch, was not able to make headway on the winner into the final sixteenth and outfinished the rest to earn the place honors. WRINKLE ROAD close up while outside of rivals in the early going, tracked the decent pace three to four wide nearing the half-mile marker, loomed three wide nearing the quarter marker, was caught in tight into upper stretch and checked past the three-sixteenths marker, could not find the needed response in the stretch drive and just missed for second, while earning the nod for show honors. WHISKEY WITH YOU close up early, was sent between runners along the first turn, assumed command and set a decent pace from between runners into the backstretch run, carved out moderate fractions nearing the half-mile pole, shook free into the far turn and battled into upper stretch, could not keep pace with the winner past mid-stretch, yielded in the final sixteenth and was outfinished for the minor awards. DO YOUR JOB assumed early command, ceded the lead and prompted the decent pace from the inside, lost ground into the second turn, battled on into the stretch, lacked the needed late response and weakened. BRONTE DIEM forward early, was keen while in tight on the first turn and came under a tight hold into the backstretch run, shifted off of the fence and stalked three deep nearing the half-mile marker, chased between rivals into the far turn, got caught a bit in tight into upper stretch and tired in the final furlong. SEARCHIN SAFARI tracked the early pace outside of rivals, well placed three wide into the backstretch run, chased into the second turn, could not keep pace into the stretch and came up empty in the lane. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING ON THE FIRST TURN AND INTO THE RUNNING IN UPPER STRETCH. THE STEWARDS RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH.
