FREEWAY seized the lead from the gate and was allowed to dictate the fractions while getting some mild pressure from UBSINGINTHEBLUES, rated kindly in hand, held position through the turn then responded when set down at the top of the stretch and drew away to an easy win. CONNOR TALKSTRASH took a bump from BIGTIMEINTHECITY, then tracked between horses as part of the tracking group, was always prominent, then ran on well from the quarter pole, proved no match for the winner but finished best of the rest for the second spot. SIR LANCELOT RIDGE chased the pace four wide in the tracking group, bid four to five wide into the stretch and finished well under steady handling. HASHTAGMAKITHAPPEN lagged at the rear of the field early, saved ground through the turn then tipped out five wide into the stretch, ran on some while under heavy pressure and urging, improved while drifting inward in deep stretch. UBSINGINTHEBLUES pressed FREEWAY through the early fractions, then had no response when that one quickened away approaching the quarter pole and faltered in the stretch. WITT'S RINGER raced three wide in the tracking group and lacked a rally. BIGTIMEINTHECITY came over after the break and bumped CONNOR TALKSTRASH, was close up to the turn, stayed to the inside but had nothing to offer in the stretch.
