Footnotes
RUNNIN N GUNNIN broke well but was held up just behind the pace while keeping to the inside path through the first half, was pushed a bit to maintain position on the far turn, had the path blocked turning for home but tipped out to the two path in mid-stretch, responded when asked to go on, surged ahead in the final furlong and won clear. NINTH ISLAND was hard to load, broke sharply and won the race to the lead going to the first turn, had several foes in close pursuit then tried to slip away after passing the half, held a slight lead into the stretch, opened up then proved no match for the winner in the late stages but saved the place with some distance back to the third horse. ARSONIST pressed the early pace through the first half-mile then launched a bid under a drive from the three furlong pole, was unable threaten the top pair in the stretch but held third while well clear of the next horse. BOHEMIAN COWGIRL tracked near the back of the pack racing to the outside of NOT A WORD through the early stages, stayed wide through the far turn and was put into a stiff drive with three furlongs to run, was slowly gaining under heavy pressure down the stretch and managed to improve late. RUNRATE broke well and raced close up through the first turn and down the backstretch, dropped back to join the trailing pair passing the half mile pole, attempted to rally on the turn but faltered and had little to offer in the stretch. SECURED chased the pace three wide from the middle of the pack, started to lose ground on the far turn and struggled to hold position in the stretch despite being in an all-out drive. NOT A WORD settled behind after the break, made a mild middle move but was unable to sustain and was never a threat.
