Footnotes
DR SKYSCRAPER assumed early command, set the pace while well handled to the turn, repelled a bidder at mid-stretch, dug in into the final sixteenth and held well in the late stages. COLONEL YORKE squeezed at the start, settled while saving ground into the turn, angled widest into upper stretch, was full of run late, could not reel in the winner in deep stretch and was up in time for second. GOLDEN GRIT ducked in then took up at the start and was off slowly, rushed up along the inside in the early stages, tipped two wide into the stretch and bid at the furlong marker, was repelled into the final sixteenth and was tagged in the final strides for the place honors, while clear of the rest for the show. HE IS HEAVEN SENT hesitated at the start and spotted the field to begin, saved ground to the turn and improved nearing the quarter pole, navigated traffic through the lane and was gaining late. ROMAN EAGLE raced close up while outside of foes early on, pressed the pace three wide into the turn, lost ground into the stretch and faded. ROCKY ROCK IT stumbled at the start and was off slowly, improved position into the turn then got caught in tight nearing the quarter marker, needed more into the stretch and passed tiring rivals late. BRODY'S TREASURE settled off of the early pace and tracked outside of runners, tracked four wide into the turn and was well placed at the quarter pole, lost ground into the stretch and weakened. CHEATING HEART tracked the early pace from between rivals, chased three wide into the turn, swung four to five wide into upper stretch and lacked the needed late response. FLYING TEX off a bit slowly, settled off of the early pace while never far back, saved ground into the turn, chased from the inside into the stretch and did not offer a late bid. HI PLAINS HUNK tracked the early pace from between runners, was well placed while two wide into the turn, got caught a bit in tight at the quarter pole and shifted out into upper stretch, could not keep pace in the drive and faltered. CANYON STREAK stumbled then broke in at the start, recovered and settled off of the early pace, raced four wide to the turn, ran in pursuit three wide nearing the quarter marker and did not threaten. FAIR WEATHER FLYER prominent early, pressed the pace between foes heading to the half-mile pole, disputed the moderate pace two wide and between runners into the turn, was overtaken into the stretch and stopped in the final furlong. NOTIME FORMISCHIEF took back off of the early pace, lost position between rivals into the turn and lacked a late response. MOST COMPETITIVE tracked the early pace from between runners, was well placed while three wide nearing the turn, was outrun to upper stretch and came up empty in the lane.
