Footnotes
TIZABLING forwardly placed early on while between runners, angled over a path in the opening furlong and put inner rivals in tight, stalked the solid pace while saving ground to the turn, well placed nearing the quarter marker, loomed into upper stretch, closed determinedly into the final sixteenth, took command into deep stretch and edged clear late. MIKEL W showed good speed away from the start and assumed early command, set a solid pace while prompted approaching the turn, showed the way to the quarter marker while off of the rail, dug in into upper stretch, met the bid of TIZABLING heading to the sixteenth-marker, was outfinished in deep stretch and was clear of the rest for second. RING SEEKER away in good order, vied for the early lead then prompted MIKEL W through quick fractions approaching the turn, stalked the pace three wide to the quarter marker, battled into upper stretch, lacked the needed response in the drive and was a clear third. ESSAY raced close up to the solid early pace while between runners, was well placed to the turn, chased two wide nearing the quarter marker, swung four wide into upper stretch then ran evenly to the furlong marker, could not find the needed late response and weakened. BERGHEIM took back off of the solid early pace, chased four wide to the turn, made a mild gain five wide into the stretch, flattened out in the drive and passed tiring foes in the late stages. TOM SAWYER bobbled then was squeezed back at the start, chased the quick pace three wide and between rivals heading to the half-mile, checked in tight quarters at the three-eighths marker, lacked room at the quarter pole, chased into upper stretch and could not muster the needed late response. UPTOWN TAPPIN was bumped then shuffled back at the start, trailed in the early stages, saved ground to the quarter pole, swung widest into upper stretch and finished evenly. TEXAS CREED prominent away from the start, got put in tight in the early stages and steadied sharply in the opening furlong, chased from the rail into the turn, ran evenly into the stretch and gave way in the final furlong. MIDNIGHT HUMOR a bit antsy prior to the start, broke in and was off slowly, chased two wide and between foes heading to the turn, advanced nearing the quarter marker, could not sustain that run into the stretch and did not factor late. FAMOUS HIGHWAY chased the solid early pace from the second flight, was well placed into the turn, went three to four wide nearing the quarter marker, could not keep pace into the stretch and stopped in the stretch drive. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT ALONG THE BACKSTRETCH INVOLVING TIZABLING AND TEXAS CREED. THERE WAS ALSO A RIDER'S OBJECTION LODGED BY THE JOCKEY OF TEXAS CREED AGAINST THE RIDER OF TIZABLING FOR THAT INCIDENT. THE STEWARDS RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
