BURNING SHORES AA assumed early command and set the pace to the turn, shook free along the bend and set the pace to the quarter pole while off of the rail, met the bid of TRIUMPH AA into upper stretch, determinedly battled that game foe to the final sixteenth, dug in in deep stretch and held in the final strides to prevail. TRIUMPH AA lunged at the start, broke awkwardly and was slow away from the gate, recovered and tracked the early pace between runners heading to the turn, got caught in traffic midway through the bend and steadied at the five-sixteenths, found room along the rail at the quarter marker and bid for the lead into the stretch, dueled BURNING SHORES AA to the final sixteenth, was gamely bested in deep stretch and was a clear second. UPTOWN HASTAMANANA chased the early pace while widest up the backstretch, ran in pursuit five wide nearing the quarter marker, could not make headway on the top pair in the stretch drive and was well clear of the rest for third. AA HOT ASSETS forwardly placed early, stalked the pace while saving ground to the turn, angled three wide nearing the quarter pole, was outrun to the furlong marker and gave way. WMA MADJIC SLIPPERS raced close up to the early pace, tracked three wide to the quarter pole, ran in pursuit four wide into the stretch, could not find the needed response in the stretch and tired in the drive. WMA NASH RAMBLER tracked the early pace four wide and between runners, well placed to the turn, could not keep pace nearing the quarter pole and came up empty in the stretch drive. WMA FAST KASH lacked early speed and trailed throughout.
