SONIC POSSE assumed command and set the pace into the first turn, carved out decent fractions while well handled through the backstretch, maintained a clear lead into upper stretch, kept to task into the final sixteenth and held in deep stretch over the oncoming runner-up. COASTAL BRINK broke alertly, ceded the early lead and tracked the decent pace while saving ground, well placed through the backstretch, saved all of the ground to the quarter pole, angled out into upper stretch, closed willingly in the late stages, could not reel in the winner in deep stretch and was second best. MOON CAT settled two wide into the first turn, unhurried through the backstretch run, saved ground into the second turn and improved position at the quarter pole, angled four wide into the stretch, could not impact the top pair late but was able to close the gap in deep stretch and was a clear third. GOLD PRIZE settled along the inside into the first turn, tracked the moderate pace between runners up the backstretch, saved ground to the far turn and advanced into the stretch, could not sustain that run in the drive and flattened out in the final sixteenth. RAROTONGA settled two wide and between runners into the first turn, never far back while two wide and between foes along the backstretch, advanced two to three wide nearing the quarter marker, chased three to four wide into the stretch and could not muster the needed late response. NIGHTWIND prominent early, ceded the lead and tracked SONIC POSSE through decent fractions into the backstretch run, chased the pacesetter two wide to the quarter marker and ran in pursuit into the stretch, lacked the needed response in the drive and gave way late. MAGNA TAP unhurried away from the start, was content to trail through the backstretch run, chased three wide into upper stretch, could not muster a late rally and passed tiring rivals in the final sixteenth. MY CALANTE settled two to three wide and between runners into the first turn, unhurried through the backstretch run, was outrun to the quarter pole and did not factor in the stretch drive. NINETY TWO tracked the early pace from the second flight, was well placed into the first turn, tracked the decent pace two wide up the backstretch, chased two wide to the quarter pole, was outrun into the stretch then came up empty in the final furlong. MORTIFY settled two wide into the first turn, shifted to the rail and saved ground while unhurried through the backstretch, saved all of the ground to the quarter marker and did not make an impact in the stretch.
