HALMSTAD broke alertly and assumed command away from the start, set a pressured pace four then three wide nearing the turn, engaged EXECUTIVE POWER and dueled outside of that runner approaching the quarter pole, battled into the stretch and clung to a narrow lead at the furlong marker, fought EXECUTIVE POWER to the final sixteenth, was fully extended in deep stretch and lasted at the wire for a determined win. EXECUTIVE POWER showed good early speed from between runners, pressed the pace two wide and between foes into the turn, shifted to the rail and dueled HALMSTAD to the quarter marker, battled that rival into the stretch, fought while on even terms with HALMSTAD into the final sixteenth and was gamely bested in the final strides, while clear of the rest for second. WISH MAN was crowded then lost his path at the start and was off slowly, allowed to settle in the early going, saved ground to the turn, chased from the rail into the stretch, weaved through traffic in the lane, finished well and got up in time for the show. NORTHVALE ROAD a step slow away from the start, tracked the contested early pace from the inside, saved ground to the turn, tipped two to three wide for the drive then was caught in traffic at mid-stretch, was gaining in deep stretch and was outfinished late for the show honors. HEZAKOOLKAT showed speed and pressed the early pace from between rivals, took back and chased two wide and between foes along the turn, ran in pursuit while within range to mid-stretch and was outkicked in the final sixteenth. WILD WEST JUSTICE tracked the early pace from the second flight, was well placed while three to four wide nearing the turn, battled into the stretch, chased the top two into the final sixteenth and could not muster the needed late response. HOLD MY BEER BRO broke a step slowly and settled off of the early pace while never far back, raced three to four wide to the turn, chased while within range to mid-stretch and finished evenly. SIDETOWN chased the early pace from between runners, got caught a bit in tight into the turn and was shuffled at the five-sixteenths, swung out for the stretch drive and lacked a late rally. BRAHMS BOY hustled to be forward early, pressed the pace from the inside approaching the turn, disputed the pace while saving ground along the bend, lost position nearing the quarter marker, ran in pursuit into the stretch and faded in the late stages.
