ZED seized the early lead, rated kindly under confident handling, was set down at the head of the stretch and won clear under steady handling and intermittent urging while drifting out a bit in the late stages. SOUND OF VICTORY unhurried early and settled and the back of the tracking group, advanced steadily up the rail down the backstretch to be in striking distance by the far turn, came under urging from the quarter pole, was looking to get clear in upper stretch but had the path blocked, tipped out in the clear at the eighth pole and finished willingly to gain the place. READY AND ABLE was pushed on early to get forward position but got caught four wide into the first turn, stayed in the clear down the backstretch, slowly advanced closer approaching the far turn, had to be ridden to keep up while losing some position near the three furlong marker, then re-bid, circled the field under a drive came five wide into the stretch and produced a grinding finish to get third. HE'S A STRIKER ceded the early lead to ZED then was content to track a few lengths behind that one to the far turn, moved to challenge for the lead on the far turn but was rebuffed, was kept to task while chasing the eventual winner down the stretch but weakened in the late stages and was passed for a minor award in the final yards. I AM GRODD slow early to be well off the leaders at the rear of the field, commenced a steady, long drive on the turn and finished with a late gain along the inside. KING OF THE DISCO tracked on the rail through the early stages, well behind the pace, was under heavy pressure and urging from the quarter pole but could not make an impact. OBVIOUS CONCLUSION was forwardly placed and went three wide through the clubhouse turn, settled in a tracking position behind the pace to the far turn, came under a drive with about three furlongs to run, maintained position on the turn then weakened in the stretch. SUPER EKATI was off very slowly and trailed throughout.
