Footnotes
MISSION BELLE hopped at the start and spotted the field a couple of lengths head start then was unhurried through the early stages content to rate at the back of the field through the first turn, advanced steadily up the rail down the backstretch then bided time while stuck behind horses through the far turn, found a seam at the top of the stretch and responded when asked to go on, took command inside the furlong grounds and won well under a strong ride and intermittent urging. DESERT GLOW wa caught three wide into the first turn, the tracked three wide in the front group down the backstretch, was asked in earnest leaving the quarter pole and battled down the stretch, was unable go with the winner late but was a clear second best. SUNNY SAN LEON allowed to settle into stride from the break, raced near the rear of the field for the first half-mile, circled the field on the far turn to get into contention then had trouble keeping a straight course in the stretch. TURN ON THE BLING was roused at the break and sent for the lead, opened up on the field on the first turn then was allowed to dictate moderate fractions for the first half-mile, held sway through the far turn and took a slight lead in to the stretch then was surrounded by challengers and overtaken before the final furlong. FELLA'S SISTER broke a step slow then was brushed by SUNNY SAN LEON a few strides out of the gate, went two to three wide through the clubhouse turn, continued the same path down the backstretch dropped to last on the far turn then swung five wide into the stretch, finished with some energy and bettered position while not a major threat. BULSARA tracked between horse in the middle of the pack started to retreat on the far turn and was unable to keep up late. CAPETOWN CANDY came away well and worked over to the two path before the first turn, got to the rail for the backstretch run and tracked the action from mid-pack getting closer to the front as the field entered the far turn, got a dream run into the stretch as a hole opened up along the rail, was set down at that point but did not respond. BASKET CASE was content to sit behind TURN ON THE BLING and let that rival carve out the early fractions, moved up in the two path to be even passing the half-mile pole, loomed turning for home then went flat in the stretch and was not a factor in the late stages.
