Footnotes
OLE CRAZY BONE settled into a tracking position two deep while letting CARLEA'S DREAM carve out very slow fractions, was first to bid for the lead leaving the quarter pole, got a head in front approaching the furlong grounds and powered away under strong handling and won clear. IMUA KAI raced in the middle of the tight pack to the half-mile marker, bid three wide at the quarter pole, had the eventual winner get first run and chased that one home while best of the rest. ILLUSTRATOR settled inside with the second flight, was boxed in and behind horses through the turn, got clear in the final furlong and was able to rally into third. FROM THE HEART settled two deep in the back part of the tracking group, came four wide under urging but was outkicked for a minor award. SUNLIT SONG tracked just behind the pacesetter to the inside, had nowhere to go on the turn and continued to be boxed in down the stretch, made a mild bid under pressure when clear but lacked the needed response. CARLEA'S DREAM took the initiative from the break and seized the early lead, slowed the pace to a crawl as the rest bunched up behind, took the field through the far turn then was beset by a host of challengers turning for home, was able to quicken and dug in for a stretch battle, was game but was outfinished. IBERIAN RUNNER was content to trail the field despite the slow pace, bid five wide art the top of the stretch, but finished well behind the rest.
