HARD GOLD tracked behind SHARP LORENZO while racing two deep, was content to let that foe dictate the fractions, the got closer on the turn, tipped to the outside to challenge that foe in the stretch, edged clear in the final furlong and held the stubborn rival safe to the wire. SHARP LORENZO made the early running and left alone while setting solid early fractions, took the lead into upper stretch, dug in when confronted by HARD GOLD but had to settle for second. NIGHTWIND broke well and was always close up, came under pressure from the five-sixteenths pole and was gaining steadily down the stretch despite racing the left lead but came up short. GHOST COWBOY raced in the middle of the pack through the early stages then improved position with some belated interest while not posing a serious threat. WILL THE THRILL was having to be coaxed to keep up with the early pace, saved ground through the turn and finished evenly. HELLO HELLO MISTER got pinballed twice shortly after the start and spotted the field a head start, was the trailer to the turn and passed tiring rivals in the lane. I'M A COWBOY was mid-pack but five wide down the backstretch, launched a bid with three furlongs to run, loomed four wide at the top of the stretch then flattened out. IMA BIG BOPPER raced near the back and four to five wide throughout, came under a stiff ride on the turn but faltered in the stretch. CARBON STRYKER got forward position early and chased SHARP LORENZO through the early stages, started to drop back through the field on the turn and was not a factor in the stretch.
