RB GRAND SLAM was caught four wide into the clubhouse turn then made a steady forward advance down the backstretch, was sent along with less than three furlongs to run drifted out the last turn then had trouble keeping a straight course in the stretch but went on well to out-duel RB MOTHERLOAD for the win. RB MOTHERLOAD unhurried early, settled near the rear then advanced into contention down the backstretch, got an inside run through the final turn, had to wait for room late on that turn, came out to the three path for the stretch run, altered course to the inside in deep stretch, may have put a head in front inside the sixteenth but came up short at the wire. DIAMOND GEM AA vied outside of three horses contesting for the early lead, got first run and gained a clear lead in upper stretch was overtaken late but finished well clear of the next horse. AA TAKE A CHANCE raced between horses in the early pace battle, could not go on with DIAMOND GEM AA leaving the quarter pole and finished evenly. LIKE MOULIN ROUGE was last onto the main course, kept to the inside but raced at the back of the pack, started a forward move from the half-mile pole, circled the field on the last turn, came about seven wide into the stretch but could not muster the needed response. WMA SMOKE SIGNAL raced inside with the tracking group, became boxed in on the last turn, swing five wide into the stretch but lacked a late bid while drifting out. RB NASH BASH gained the lead turning onto the main course with AA TAKE A CHANCE shadowing to the outside, went together down the backstretch while joined by DIAMOND GEM AA, gave way on the final turn and tired in the stretch. HONEY PROOF got caught four wide on the clubhouse turn, tracked on the outside of the second group then struggled to keep up before the final turn and chased the rest of the way. WMA TORCH LIGHT raced between horses in the second flight through the early stages, dropped out halfway down the backstretch and was distanced.
