Footnotes
MIKEL W broke well and cleared away with CHARLIE DONT SURF, put that rival away approaching the quarter pole was ridden confidently to mid-stretch then let loose and went far clear of the rest. FAMOUS TUTT broke best but was quickly overtaken by the outside pair, raced at the head of the tracking group through the turn, had some trouble keeping a straight course in the stretch and weakened. CHARLIE DONT SURF broke sharply and dueled with MIKEL W through the early stages, gave way to that one before the quarter pole tried to keep on under strong handling and urging but lost the place yards from the wire. OTHERBROTHERDARYL raced three wide under constant encouragement but had little impact. BAR HOPPIN BILLY was last early and raced between horses down the backstretch while having to be coaxed to keep pace, kept to task through the stretch but could not improve. ONE DEAL raced inside with the trailing trio, was under a drive from the half-mile marker but unable to make up any ground, came into the stretch alternating leads and weakened.
