Footnotes
MATAGORA BAY broke well then pressed the early pace three wide down the backstretch in hand, went to bid for the lead approaching the quarter pole and pulled even at the top of the stretch, briefly battled with a rival to deep stretch, edged clear and widened in the final yards. COFFEE KISSES took a bump from PASSANDO after the start then rushed up to grab the early lead with a pair of rivals pressing the issue to the outside, was challenged by MAGAGORA BAY passing the quarter pole then engaged that foe in a spirited duel down the stretch, held on determinedly to deep stretch then capitulated in the final yards. SISTER HONEY was hustled hard from the break but unable to join the early pace battle, settled two wide behind not far from the front, got a rail run through the turn then was put to steady right handed urging, was unable to catch the top pair but finished well clear of the next horse. PASSANDO broke inward at the start, making contact with COFFEE KISSES, was unable to keep up with the early pace and tracked at the back of the field but not too far behind, was put into a drive from the seven-sixteenths pole, saved ground through the turn then finished up well under strong handling and intermittent urging. CIRCA STAR broke well and was four wide with the second flight, stayed that course through the turn and into the stretch and lacked a late bid. ROYAL SUBJECT chased down the backstretch, dropped back to last on the turn and was only able to pass a tired one in the stretch. MUCHO VAPOR vied between horses to the quarter pole, then gave way and tired in the stretch.
