SUN THE SANDS broke well and tracked WMA GETAWAY through the early stages, pulled even a the 7/16 , started to assert dominance late on the turn then drew away in the stretch as much the best. MAJD STORM ducked in sharply and slammed into BURNING JEWELS causing that one to fall and unseating the rider, was well back of the rest down the backstretch then was put to intermittent right handed urging on the turn, drifted wide on the last turn taking WMA WILD KISSES out as well, finished with good energy to gain the second spot. WMA GETAWAY was quickest from the gate and sped off to a clear early lead, was joined by SUN THE SANDS at the seven-sixteenth pole, readily gave way to that one approaching the quarter pole kept on but was unable to save the place. WMA WILD KISSES lacked early speed and was far behind the rest before the turn, switched to the outside then was floated very wide on the last bend by MAJD STORM, ran on some in the stretch and managed to split the strung out field. FLYING J STORM mid-pack early, made a mild middle move then lost focus approaching the stretch and was not a factor in the late stages. WMA SANDY BEAR was away well and tracked three wide lost ground on the turn and had little to offer late. BURNING JEWELS took a hard bump from MAJD STORM at the start, clipped heels, stumbled badly and lost the rider, was caught by the outrider and walked off. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT AT THE START AND THERE WAS A TRAINER'S OBJECTION REGARDING THE SAME MATTER. AFTER REVIEW, THE OBJECTION WAS UPHELD, #5 MAJD STORM WAS DISQUALIFIED FOR INTERFERENCE AT THE START AND PLACED LAST.
