COLONEL YORKE broke sharply and vied for the early lead without really being asked then was allowed to dictate the pace as the rest lined up behind, slowed the middle splits while continuing to lead the way, started to edge away from the field leaving the quarter pole then quickened when cued at the top of the stretch, went well clear and cruised to the wire under wraps late. SILVER ASSASSIN settled in the middle of the pack in cover through the early stages, bided time through the far turn with no options to get out,, got free in upper stretch and finished up well under steady handling and was easily second best while no match for the winner. MISTER MOSCATO got over to the inside and was unhurried through the first half of the race, stayed on the rail path down the backstretch and the far turn, waited behind horses to the stretch, got clear run with a furlong to run and surged late to gain the third spot. KING ARTHUR RIDGE was unhurried from the start and settled on the rail near the rear of the field, went two wide through the far turn then swung four wide into the stretch and finished with good energy while never a serious threat. GHURAIR'S WARRIOR was forwardly placed three wide into the first turn then remained in the clear down the backstretch no too far from the front, launched a bid with about three furlongs to run, went four wide on the far turn and finished evenly. SILVER STEF HIT tracked close up on the inside then took up the chase when COLONEL YORKE slipped away from the pack, then could not sustain the bid and was outkicked in the final furlong. UPTOWN TAPPIN raced inside with the tracking group saved ground throughout but could not find the needed response in the stretch. GOLDEN GRIT hopped at the start, then raced three to four wide on both turns and was unable to menace. GOD'S GOLD was outrun from the start, trailed to the far turn then was put to some urging in the stretch and managed to pass one late. CRAZY RIDGE raced close up three wide to the far turn, dropped out of contention late on the turn and was eased to the finish.
