Footnotes
WOW THAT'S HOT had good speed from the break and made the lead under a light hold, then was left to set reasonable fractions to the far turn, turned back a bid from STEEN at the top of the stretch then pulled clear in the final furlong to win as much the best. ROARING RAPIDS raced inside with the tracking group, started a run from the five-sixteenths then had some trouble keeping a straight course mid-stretch but kept on and rallied into the place. STEEN broke well then ceded the early lead to WOW THAT'S HOT, stalked that rival to the far turn then moved to challenge for the lead near the three-sixteenths pole, was rebuffed then chased down the stretch, weakened late and lost the place. KANTAKE came away awkwardly from the break then was content to trail through the first half, started a forward move on the turn then was poised to make a late run but had a little trouble with the lead change and flattened out. FEATHER LAINE settled on the outside of the second group, made a middle move to bid three wide for the lead approaching the quarter pole then could not sustain the run and was unable to threaten late. BILLY DIXON raced inside with the third flight, well off the pace, made a mild bid on the turn as the field bunched up then seemed lose focus in the stretch. FLOATING SMOKEY went a bit wide on the first turn, started a bid about three furlongs out as the field began to condense, drifted out to about the nine-path on the last bend and could not make up any ground in the stretch. CAN'T KNOW was hard to load, then was off poorly and slow into stride, raced far behind and was never a factor. KOCHAN raced close up through the early stages then took up just past the half-mile marker, lost momentum and could not recover.
