Footnotes
BRUCELEA broke well but ceded the lead, settled well off the pace inside then was set down approaching the stretch, produced a good rally under strong handling, ran past the field in the final yards and prevailed. EXECUTIVE POWER broke well and vied inside a four-way battle for the early lead, backed off after about two furlongs then tracked through the turn, angled out to the three path for the stretch run and finished well under steady handling but was no match for the winner in the end. OPTIMAL COURAGE broke well and contested the early pace to the turn, backed off at the three furlong pole then tried to come back on in the stretch, got stuck behind horses about a furlong out, then tipped out to the four path for clear run and finished with interest but was too late. PHILO BEDDOE was on the outside of the early pace battle, then dueled with TURQUOISE BLUE through the turn, kept on well in the drive to deep stretch but was outfinished in the final yards. TURQUOISE BLUE showed good speed and was two deep in a four-way contest for the early lead then was left to duel inside of PHILO BEDDOE through the turn, led into upper stretch then gave way in the final furlong. WISH MAN chased from the back of the compact field, went two wide through the turn then got a clear run up the rail in the stretch but could not make an impact. CLASSIC RICK settled mid-pack early then went four to five wide into the stretch and finished evenly. QUINQUELA was close up in the tracking group then took up near the three furlong marker, lost momentum and dropped to last and could not recover.
