Footnotes
DEVILETTA was away well and made the lead without really being asked, set a reasonable pace with MATURITY DATE lapped to the outside, was traveling well when that foe upped the pressure passing the three furlong marker and held position then turned back the challenge at the top of the stretch, went a length clear, held the rival at bay through the stretch and was increasing the margin late. MATURITY DATE stumbled at the start, recovered, then pressed the pace two wide then bid for the lead passing the three furlong pole, could not get past then chased in vain in the stretch and had to settle for second. MAGNOLIA AVENUE settled inside behind the leading pair, was put into a drive three furlongs from the finish, chased to the finish was unable to close the gap. HAYAI UMA got pinched back at the start, was close up for a half-mile then could not keep up. SUPER LUXE was at the back of the compact field but never far from the front though the first half, made a mild two to three wide bid through the far turn but flattened out in the stretch and was never a serious threat.
