WANDERING KIRBY dueled outside of ROYAL SUBJECT well ahead of the rest, edged clear leaving the quarter pole, had the lead turning for home, then did battle with a pair of rivals down the stretch, finished with much determination and just held on. RUNRATE was away well and showed good natural speed, settled just two deep behind the dueling leaders, was set down to go after the lead leaving the three furlong pole, cut the corner into the stretch and battled gamely with WANDERING KIRBY through the stretch and just missed. SUGARCOAT was unhurried from the break and took up a tracking position in the middle of the pack, made a forward move with three furlongs to run, was stuck behind horses in upper stretch then rallied when clear in mid-stretch, was steadily gaining and just missed. ROYAL SUBJECT dueled inside of WANDERING KIRBY about five lengths clear of the rest of the field, gave way after passing the quarter pole and continued to run on with good courage but missed out on a minor award. VIOLET KITTEN raced three to four wide with the tracking group, launched a bid with three furlongs to run, loomed three wide at the head of the stretch then flattened out. ZIAH Y G dropped to last early, angled out three wide, came five wide into the stretch and finished evenly while never a serious threat. MAYBE SO was held up while keeping to the rail through the early stages, had to steady and alter course around the tiring MADONNA MIA approaching the three furlong pole, tried to come back on up the rail but tired under pressure. SISTER HONEY went four wide through the first turn, then settled at the rear off the tracking group, launched a wide bid on the far turn then went flat in the stretch. NIKONOE'S MAGIC went three wide through the first turn then came onto the backstretch in last position, fell further behind in the run down the backstretch and continued to trail the field to the finish. MADONNA MIA raced close up on the inside of the tracking group the stopped just past the three furlong pole and was eased to the wire and walked off. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
