FOR TEXAS ACCREDITED FILLIES AND MARES, FOUR YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. No nomination fee. $500 due at time of entry. Starters to pay an additional $500. Supplemental nominations in the amount of $2,000 may be made at time of entry and shall include all fees. $5,000 from Open plus $70,000 Added from the TTA Event Fund plus all fees to be distributed: $1,000 to all starters sixth through last. The remaining balance to be distributed: 60% to the winner, 20% to the second, 11% to third, 6% to fourth and 3% to f ifth. Weight: 123 lbs. Non-winners of a Sweepstakes at a mile or over in 2024 - 2025 allowed 3 lbs. Two races at a mile or over since September 22, 2024 allowed 5 lbs. (Maiden, Claiming and Starter races not considered in weight allowances) This race will be limited to twelve starters with preference to horses with highest earnings in 2024-2025 at time of entry. Horses not drawing a starting position in the gate will receive a refund of the entry fee. Starters to be named through the entry box by the usua l time of closing. BLOOD ORANGE broke well and secured inside position, steadied slightly in traffic on the first turn then settled a couple of lengths behind the pace to the far turn, waited for room turning into the stretch then went willingly through a narrow opening on the rail, battled with TAKE MY PICTURE through the late stages, got a head in front mid-stretch and held on doggedly to the wire. TAKE MY PICTURE was devoid of early speed and content to trail early, advanced up the inside down the backstretch, rallied inside through the turn, split horses in mid-stretch and finished up well dueling with BLOOD ORANGE to the wire and just missed. SKY ROCKER broke well and gained the early lead going on to the main course, was joined by BLUE HEAVENLY down the backstretch with most of the rest in close pursuit, held a slight lead through the far turn then gave up the lead in mid-stretch but kept on well to save third. GRACIE'S KITTEN got crowded a bit at the start, declined to get involved in the early pace scramble and settled inside with the third flight, bided time down the backstretch then ran on five or six wide down the stretch and was able to improve while never a serious threat. BLUE HEAVENLY raced in the middle of the three horses contesting the slow early pace, remained prominent to the far turn, then was unable to quicken in the stretch and finished evenly. NO MAS TEQUILA was two wide with the tracking group behind the leading trio, lugged in at the top of the stretch then angled out to the five or six path for clear run but could not quicken. IMALUCKYCHARM vied three wide early then pulled back a bit down the backstretch, tried to re-rally on the far turn, bid three wide at the top of the stretch, had trouble changing leads and weakened. BLUEBONNET GIRL settled two wide with the third flight down the backstretch then lacked a late bid. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN AND CONTACT BETWEEN THE TOP TWO FINISHERS. AFTER A REVIEW IT WAS RULED THAT THE CONTACT DID NOT AFFECT THE ORDER OF FINISH SO NO ACTION WAS NECESSARY.
